On 30 July 2021, the federal government announced the extension of the financial assistance programmes linked to COVID-19 for individuals and businesses. It also announced an increase in the Emergency Wage Subsidy (EWS) and Wage Subsidy for Rent (WSTR) rates for the 20-year period;
