COVID-19-related aid measures contained in the federal economic update of 30 November

On November 30, the federal government released its economic update for fall 2020. It contained a number of new features and clarifications concerning the support measures for COVID-19, which we summarize below. The programmes concerned are the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CESG), the Canada Emergency Rental Subsidy (CERS) and special assistance for the hardest-hit sectors. This bulletin also provides information on the extension and enhancement of the Canadian Business Emergency Account (CBEEA). Finally, we will briefly present the assistance for individuals, including administrative relief for home office expenses.
